Unveiling the Mystery of One Thousand and One Nights: Grand Sunergy Showcases High-Efficiency HJT at Solar Show KSA

On October 15-16, 2024, the Saudi International Solar PV and Energy Storage Exhibition (referred to as “Solar Show KSA”) was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Grand Sunergy made a grand appearance with its high-efficiency HJT modules from the Eutropic Series (182-144), Expedition Series (210R-132), Seapower Series (210-132), and Chasing Series (210-132).

A Paradigm of High Value in Centralized Markets

Catering to Saudi Arabia’s unique natural environment and diverse climate conditions, Grand Sunergy introduced high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) photovoltaic products designed specifically for local climate adaptability.

At this year’s Solar Show KSA, the Chasing Series 210-132 model ultra-high-power HJT module debuted with a maximum power output of 751.24W and a top efficiency of 24.18%. This marks yet another breakthrough in HJT technology for Grand Sunergy. The module utilizes 210mm large-format bifacial microcrystalline HJT cells and 0BB technology. Advanced processes like impurity absorption and texture etching reduce internal defects and impurities in the cells, enhancing light absorption and conversion. The module’s packaging includes a robust sealing design, with butyl rubber sealing between dual layers of glass and dust plugs for the junction box connector, improving dust resistance. Additionally, the glass surface features a special hydrophobic coating that repels water droplets and minimizes dust accumulation, offering superior self-cleaning functionality.

The Chasing Series 210-132 Seapower HJT marine module also made its scheduled appearance, designed to meet the needs of Middle Eastern clients. Built on Grand Sunergy’s new generation bifacial microcrystalline HJT cell technology, the Seapower Series boasts enhanced weather resistance, having passed TÜV Nord wind tunnel tests withstanding wind speeds up to 51m/s, equivalent to a category 16 typhoon. It’s worth noting that, under consistent wind speeds, larger modules tend to experience greater vibration compared to smaller ones, so Grand Sunergy’s entire range of HJT modules is designed to endure high wind loads and exhibit exceptional crack resistance.

The Seapower module’s packaging solution employs a polyurethane polymer composite frame with superior mechanical properties, high strength, and excellent resistance to weather and corrosion. Coupled with UV-resistant adhesive films, the module effectively blocks ultraviolet light damage. The dual-layer glass is protected by a dense SiO2 coating, preventing erosion from seawater and mitigating light transmission loss caused by salt mist. The butyl rubber edge seal between the two glass layers minimizes water vapor penetration by 99.9% compared to industry standards, making it ideal for high-temperature, high-humidity environments. It has already been successfully applied to the 400MW offshore PV project in Zhaoyuan, Yantai, China.

N-Type High-Efficiency Modules for Diverse Applications

Riding the wave of efficiency improvement, Grand Sunergy’s Expedition Series 210R-132 HJT module uses HJT-210R rectangular cells and is sized at 2382mm x 1134mm, maximizing space utilization in a 40HC container, reaching a utilization rate of 98.5%. This module delivers up to 640W of power with an efficiency of 23.69%, with an increased effective power generation area compared to the standard 182mm format, boosting power output by up to 30W. The Expedition Series has further enhanced power capabilities over existing high-efficiency HJT technology, generating significant value for end-users, making it highly favored in the market.

Likewise, the Eutropic Series 182-144 HJT-0BB module, designed for diverse application scenarios, adopts 0BB busbar-free technology, reducing front silver paste shading by 30% compared to 20BB modules. This increases the light-receiving area and shortens the current transmission path, reducing series resistance and improving conversion efficiency. With more soldering ribbons directly connected to fine gridlines, the module’s crack resistance is significantly enhanced. Combined with Grand Sunergy’s full lifecycle product management, this maximizes module reliability.

The Middle Eastern market is vast but challenging. In response, Gao Fei, President of Grand Sunergy, emphasized that the company will cater to the region’s specific application needs by delivering superior product solutions across various scenarios, focusing on the value propositions of the end market through a multidimensional approach encompassing products, systems, and power station lifecycle management.
