Grand Sunergy Secures Major Contracts from Central State-Owned Enterprises, Gaining Momentum

Recently the official announcement of the winning bids for the 2024-2025 2GW heterojunction photovoltaic module equipment procurement by CNNP Rich Energy Co.,Ltd. And Xinhua Hydropower Company Ltd. has been made. Grand Sunergy, the rising star in the photovoltaic industry, has once again made the shortlist, successfully securing this centralized procurement project from a central and state-owned enterprise.

Public data shows that Grand Sunergy has repeatedly been shortlisted for centralized procurement projects by central state-owned enterprises in recent times. This reflects the strong recognition of Grand Sunergy’s product quality and confidence in its technological innovation capabilities among these major clients. According to media reports on its order acquisition performance, Grand Sunergy has achieved significant success in implementing large-scale centralized photovoltaic projects in China, standing out in a generally sluggish photovoltaic market this year.

The company has disclosed contract signings totaling RMB 1.452 billion this year:

  • Signed a “Photovoltaic Module Equipment Procurement Contract for the 400MW Offshore Photovoltaic Project (HG30) of CGN Yantai Zhaoyuan” with China Energy Construction Group Northwest Survey and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd., with a contract value of RMB 539 million (including tax);
  • Signed a “Photovoltaic Module Contract for the EPC General Contracting Project of the 600MW Salt-PV Complementary Photovoltaic Power Generation Project of CGN Laizhou Tushan” with China Energy Construction Group South Survey and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd., with a contract value of RMB 749 million (including tax);
  • Signed a “Heterojunction Photovoltaic Module Supply Contract for the 4GW Photovoltaic Phase II Project of Zhonglvdian Ruoqiang” with China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Ltd., with a contract value of RMB 164 million (including tax).

Grand Sunergy has consecutively secured spots in the following projects: the 2024-2025 photovoltaic module and BIPV integration supplier procurement by PCG Power; the 2024-2025 joint centralized procurement for photovoltaic module equipment by China Construction Zhonghuan Eco-Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.; and the 2024-2025 2GW heterojunction photovoltaic module equipment procurement by CNNP Rich Energy Co.,Ltd. And Xinhua Hydropower Company Limited.

Over the past two years, the heterojunction (HJT) sector has experienced rapid growth, and Grand Sunergy’s HJT products have consistently gained recognition from central and state-owned enterprise clients. This has led to a continuous increase in market share and brand influence. According to media reports, the bidding and procurement capacity for heterojunction technology reached approximately 8.21GW in the first half of 2024. With the initiation of procurement activities in the second half of the year and into 2025, heterojunction technology is expected to receive even more orders from central state-owned enterprises. This also reflects the growing confidence of these major clients in the maturity of heterojunction technology and the capabilities of its manufacturers.

Under the leadership of many companies such as Grand Sunergy, HJT modules have now reached a level where they can compete on par with TOPCon technology. It is anticipated that in 2024, N-type technology will replace P-type as the mainstream, ushering in even greater advancements for heterojunction technology.
